I am very proud to be an employee of the Jefferson Davis Parish school system. My job as RTI coach allows me to work 3 days at Welsh Elementary and 2 days at Fenton Elementary where my job lets me help provide a great education to the students and a support system for the teachers.
I have been associated with the Jefferson Davis Parish schools since I began attending 1st grade in Lacassine High School. I graduated from Lacassine then continued my education at McNeese State University. I began teaching in Lacassine in 1974, taught 1 year, then became a stay-at-home mom to raise our children. I returned to Lacassine in 1993 as an elementary teacher and remained there until 2007 when I asked for a transfer to Fenton Elementary. I taught 4th grade in Fenton until May of 2012. In August of 2012, I began the job of RTI coach where I am today.
My husband, Chris, and I raised our 5 children on a rice and soybean farm near Fenton and look forward to retiring there soon. We enjoy the blessings of 9 grandchildren and enjoy traveling. We have traveled to the Philippine Islands many times to scuba dive, a sport that we enjoy together. Reading and gardening are two other hobbies that I enjoy.
