I am a 1973 graduate of Welsh High and attended LSU and McNeese State University. I received my BS degree in Early Childhood Education in December of 1988 and began my teaching career as a 5th grade science teacher at Welsh Elementary in August. I remained in 5th grade for two years, but as a kindergarten position became available, I decided to move down and teach the little ones. I remained in kindergarten for 13 years and then decided to move up to 4th grade where I taught ELA and social studies. Two years ago I gave up ELA to teach science which is my true love! I feel so blessed to have taught 25 years in the same school where I received my education and where my mother also taught.
I am married to Clyde Daigle, and I have three children and four step-children. Our children have blessed us with eleven beautiful grandchildren which we totally adore. I enjoy spending lots of time with my family, traveling around the country with my husband, and playing lots to tennis.
My favorite teaching quote is ...The important thing is not so much
that every child should be taught,
as that every child should be given the wish to learn.
