Biography

Teaching is something I can say "runs in the blood".  I am the daughter of two former educators.  My mother, Annette, taught in private schools for 13 years, and my father, David, just recently retired from the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board after 36 years as an educator and administrator.   I am a mother to a beautiful healthy little boy named Ross.   I was born and raised here in Welsh and I have proudly attended all three of the Welsh school systems.  I graduated from Welsh High School in 2005 and from McNeese State University in the Spring of 2011 with a B.S. in Elementary Education (1-5).  I student taught 4th and 5th grade ELA at Bell City High School in the Spring of 2011 and began my official teaching career at Jennings Elementary teaching Math.  After one year at J.E.S I had the privilege of moving back to my hometown and joined the team at Welsh Elementary.

I have always known that teaching was "my thing"!  I truly love what I do and enjoy watching my students grow as individuals!  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my baby, family, and friends. I love football and baseball season, especially the weather!
