I am a 1987 graduate of Welsh High School. During my high school years, I made a goal to attend college and become a Special Education Teacher. I graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1993. I married my high school sweetheart, Shane Benoit. He also graduated from Welsh High and played football at Louisiana Tech. Being married to a former coach, I’ve had the opportunity to have teaching experiences in many parishes. I’ve taught in Caddo, Lafayette, Calcasieu, and Jeff Davis Parishes. While in Jeff Davis, during the 2010 school year, I was named Jefferson Davis Parish Elementary Teacher of the Year. I have been very blessed to teach for twenty-four years. Shane and I have one daughter, Sarah Benoit. Sarah is currently McNeese State University. She is studying to become an Early Childhood Teacher.
My mission while teaching at Welsh Elementary is to be the best teacher I can be for my students. I believe ALL students should have the opportunity to learn to the best of their ability. My job as your child’s teacher is to instill confidence and willingness to learn so they will be the best learners I know they can be! My favorite word is “BELIEVE”. My students will hear me say this word quite often because I want them to believe that anything is possible! “Believe in yourself”, “Believe in what you can accomplish!”
I want to thank all of my students' parents for giving me the opportunity to teach your child. I am certain with all of us working together as a team, your child will see success!
